The Derbyshire Singers completed their year-long celebrations for the choir’s 40th anniversary with a tour of Venice.
Their choral journey took them to three of the most beautiful and prestigious churches in the city and the famous Basilica of Saint Mark’s.
The music performed reflected the influential composers in Venice during the transition period from Renaissance to Baroque – Gabrieli, Monteverdi, Pergolesi and Vivaldi.
The programmes varied from full concerts to singing several works in a Mass.
The soloist on tour was Lesley-Jane Rogers and Stefan Reid played the organ. The conductor was Lynne Clark.
