About the Choir

The Derbyshire Singers was re-formed with just eighteen singers in 1973 by Joseph Clark and continues to hold its reputation as one of the most highly regarded in the East Midlands. Presently a choir of some 70 to 80 voices we are well known for always employing national and international professional orchestral players, groups and soloists, many of whom have become well known names to music lovers including baritone Christopher Maltman, soprano Geraldine McGreevy, trumpeter Crispian Steele Perkins, piano duettists Anthony Goldstone and Caroline Clemmow, guitarist Craig Ogden and mezzo-soprano Catherine Wyn-Rogers who was a member of the Derbyshire Singers before she won her singing scholarship to The Royal College of Music.

The choir usually performs three or four concerts per year and is a non profit making organisation.
The conductor is Lynne Clark. Her husband, Joseph Clark.
